A supplier is where you buy your stock. Recording your suppliers keeps you organised — and it quietly powers automatic product enrichment and your storefront brand pages.
Add a supplier
Go to Suppliers → Add supplier and fill in their details. Three fields do extra work:
- Website — Shopkit uses it to find product images and richer descriptions during AI enrichment.
- Brands — the brands this supplier distributes, one per line. When you import with this supplier selected, these appear as a Brand picker so every product lands with the right brand — which powers your brand pages.
- Enrichment source URLs — extra pages on the supplier's site (a "shop all" page, a collection, a brand catalogue), one per line. Enrichment uses them as hints to find this supplier's products when a product doesn't have its own supplier URL.
Link products to a supplier
- During import: the Supplier choice on the Import screen must be made before you can preview — pick the supplier the file came from (or "No supplier" for your own products); every row without its own supplier column is linked to it. Importing from more than one supplier? Do a separate import per supplier.
- On a product: open the product's Suppliers tab and choose one.
- In bulk: select products on the Products list and use Edit products to set the supplier across many at once.
Why it matters
Once a product is linked to a supplier that has a website, enrichment can search that supplier's site for the exact product — which is what lets it pull in images, not just a description. For the best results, add a per-product Supplier product URL too (you can map this from a column when importing).
