Filling in product details with AI

Shopkit can research a product for you and draft a customer-ready description, and find images where they're available. It's perfect for fleshing out a freshly-imported catalogue.

How to use it

  • One product: open the product and click ✨ Enrich with AI.
  • In bulk: on the Products list, select items and choose ✨ Enrich with AI — these are drafted in the background.

Review everything under Products → Enrich before it goes live. Nothing is applied until you approve it, and you can accept images individually.

What to expect

  • By default, enrichment fills gaps only — it won't touch a description or images you already have. A product that already has a description is simply skipped, with the reason shown so you know why.
  • Descriptions are researched from the web and usually come out well, even for niche products.
  • Images are the harder part: they come reliably only from a product's supplier page. Web research on its own rarely returns usable images.

Rewriting descriptions you already have

Want the AI to improve existing descriptions, not just fill blanks? Tick Improve descriptions before you enrich — it's on the bulk toolbar, and on each product's own enrich button. That opts those products in to a fresh, researched rewrite, and when you review the draft you'll see it's set to replace the existing description. Images are only ever added, never removed — so this is safe to run on a product that already has photos.

Your monthly allowance

Each plan includes a set number of AI enrichments per month. You'll see it as a meter at the top of Products → Enrich — for example "This month — 12 / 200" — along with how many you have left and when it resets (the start of each month). Each product you enrich counts as one, whether it came from a single click or a bulk run. Need a higher limit? Get in touch.

Getting the best results: set a supplier with a website on your products, or map a "Supplier product URL" column when you import. The supplier's Enrichment source URLs and the product's Brand are used as extra hints to find the right pages. That's what unlocks images alongside the description.
