Quotes are for the jobs that don't have a fixed shelf price — custom, made-to-order or trade enquiries where a customer needs a price before they buy. They come in under Quotes in your admin sidebar, and Shopkit handles the whole back-and-forth for you.
How a customer asks for a quote
Customers submit a request from your storefront's quote page. They leave their contact details (name, email, phone), tell you what they need, and — depending on how your store is set up — can attach files such as drawings or specs. Every submission lands in your Quotes list, and the customer gets a reference number.
Where requests appear
Open Quotes and you'll see tabs across the top, each with a count:
- New — fresh requests waiting on you
- Quoted — you've sent a price, waiting on the customer
- Accepted / Declined — how the customer responded
- Archived — tidied away
The list shows each contact, how many files they attached, the status and the quoted amount. Click a contact to open the request, review their notes and Download any attached files.
Sending a quote
On the request, press Send quote. Fill in:
- Amount (AUD) — your price for the job
- Lead time (days) — how long it'll take
- Message (optional) — material notes, finish options, anything the customer should know
Press Send quote email. Shopkit emails the customer a link where they can review the details and accept or decline online. The request moves to Quoted. If you need to revise a price, open it again and press Re-send quote.
Declining, archiving and deleting
- Decline — turns the enquiry down; you'll be prompted for a reason
- Archive — moves a finished request out of your main list
- Delete — permanently removes the request and its uploaded files (this can't be undone)
When a customer accepts
Once a customer accepts their quote, the request shows as Accepted and you'll follow up to arrange the work and payment. Quotes are a great fit for B2B and trade customers — pair them with Wholesale if you sell on account.
