Storefront banners

A banner is a coloured promotional strip that sits at the very top of every page on your storefront — perfect for a sale, free-shipping offer or seasonal message. You'll find it under Marketing → Banners.

A note on plans

Banners are included on some Shopkit plans and not others. If you don't see Banners in the menu, it isn't part of your current plan — see choosing a plan.

Create a banner

Go to Banners → New banner and fill in:

  • Message — the text shoppers see (up to 240 characters). Required.
  • Link URL and Link label — optional. Add both together to turn part of the banner into a clickable call to action, e.g. a URL of /products?sort=new with the label Shop now →.
  • Starts at / Ends at — optional date and time window. Leave them blank to run the banner indefinitely.
  • Background colour and Text colour — pick with the colour swatches or type a hex value. A Preview updates live as you type.
  • Active — tick to switch the banner on within its date window.

Then choose Create banner.

Where it shows

An active banner appears as a strip across the top of every public page of your store. Only one banner shows at a time — if several are live at once, the most recently created one wins. This lets you queue up the next promotion in advance without two banners clashing.

Scheduling and status

Each banner in the list shows a status so you always know what's live:

  • Live — active and within its date window (showing now).
  • Scheduled — active, but its start time is still in the future.
  • Expired — active, but its end time has passed.
  • Inactive — switched off.

Editing and removing

Click any banner in the list to edit it, then Save changes. To take one down for good, open it and choose Delete (you'll be asked to confirm — this can't be undone). To simply pause a banner without losing it, untick Active instead.
