Recovering abandoned carts

When a shopper adds items but doesn't check out, the cart is saved so you can see what's slipping away — and, on the right plan, win it back automatically. Find it under Marketing → Abandoned carts.

What counts as abandoned

Shopkit groups every cart that still holds items by how long it's been quiet:

  • Active — activity in the last hour (they may still be shopping).
  • Idle — 1 to 24 hours.
  • Abandoned — 24 hours to 7 days. This is the recovery window.
  • Stale — older than 7 days.

Use the tabs to filter by state, and the summary tiles up top for a quick read on Value at risk and how many carts are Emailable, not yet sent.

Reading a cart

Each card shows the customer — or Anonymous if they weren't signed in — along with the items and an estimated total. Values are estimated from the price when each item was added and are re-quoted at checkout. The footer notes when the cart was last active and its reminder status: reminder sent, emailable, or no email on file.

Recovery emails

Recovery is automatic. Once a day (around 10:30) Shopkit sends a single "you left something behind" reminder to each qualifying cart. A cart qualifies when it:

  • has been idle between 24 hours and 7 days,
  • still holds at least one item, and
  • belongs to a signed-in customer with a confirmed email address.

Each cart is reminded only once, and anonymous carts (no email) are never contacted. There's no manual "send now" button — the reminders run on their own. Automatic recovery emails are available on the Small Business plan and above.

Tidying up

Use Delete on any cart to remove it and its items permanently. This can't be undone.
